CAMPUS TREE AUDIT 2023-24 at Sahodaran Ayyappan Smaraka SNDP Yogam College
The Bhoomithrasena Club of Sahodaran Ayyappan Smaraka SNDP Yogam College, Konni, successfully conducted the Campus Tree Audit 2023 on 20/11/2023, aiming to systematically review and document the existing trees on campus. This initiative aimed to gather crucial data on species, health, and location to guide future conservation and management efforts effectively.
Activities for the audit included comprehensive data collection from trees, encompassing species identification, location mapping, size, age, health assessment, structural integrity, and potential risks. This meticulous approach ensured a holistic understanding of the campus arboreal ecosystem.
Following data collection, Bhoomithrasena members diligently compiled and analyzed the information to prepare a detailed report. This report serves as a valuable resource for informed decision-making regarding tree conservation and management strategies.
The report was formally released by Mr. Anilkumar D, representing the college management, who handed over a copy to the principal. This gesture underscores the institutional commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability.
The event saw active participation, with a total of 18 participants, including teachers, contributing to the audit process. This collaborative effort exemplifies the collective responsibility towards preserving the campus environment for future generations.
The organizing committee, led by College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Kishor Kumar B S, along with IQAC Coordinator Prof. Simi M and Programme Coordinator Prof. Jijith V S, ensured the smooth execution of the audit. Student Coordinator Miss. Anumol Reji played a pivotal role in coordinating student involvement, further enhancing the inclusivity and impact of the initiative.
