World Environment Day at Naipunnya School of Management, Cherthala
This year on June 6 th the World Environment Day was celebrated in Naipunnya School of Management, Cherthala with great enthusiasm. The celebration for the day started with Morning Prayer followed by a message on the theme for the day “#beatplasticpollution” by Ms. Maheswari K S, S2 BBA. This was followed by a small speech on the importance of day and theme by College Principal Rev.Fr. Baiju George Ponthempilly. By 10.00AM few staff members and Rithu members of each course assembled beside the open auditorium and tree sapling were planted by Rithu member representatives along with the principal and faculty in charges of the club. During tea break, all the staff members assembled near the open
auditorium wear green colour dress code to observe environment day. Both students and teachers carried steel bottle to the campus to support this year’s theme beat plastic pollution.
Later, a small street rally was arranged by the club members and faculty coordinators with the message to beat plastic pollution and distributed tree saplings to the local community residing near the campus. Around 63 club members participated in the rally under the guidance of both the club coordinators. The club members also prepared a small awareness video on the Environment day and uploaded it in the Rithu YouTube channel.
The Environment Day celebration at our campus with the theme Beat Plastic Pollution successfully raised awareness about the harmful effects of plastic and inspired individuals to take action. Through street rally, the event educated the college and local community about harmful effects of plastic. It fostered a sense of responsibility and encouraged students and faculty to make environmentally conscious choices in their daily lives. The event served as a significant step towards building a greener and more sustainable future.
