World Sparrow Day: Changing the Display Board Showing the Birds of College Campus at PSMO College, Tirurangadi
BMC PSMO College, with the assistance and co-operation of Malappuram Birders, Kerala Bird Atlas, eBird and Bird Count India, conducts regular bird monitoring surveys on the campus for the last four years without break. After the first survey in 2022 BMC PSMO College had set up a display board on the campus showing the photographs, common names and scientific names of the 58 species of birds identified in the survey.
After the completion of the fourth Campus Bird Count on 16th February 2025, since lots of new species of birds are identified in the three annual bird surveys after the first survey, BMC PSMO College changed the previous display board with a new one showing the details of 77 species of birds identified through the four annual bird surveys. The new display board was set up on 20th March 2025 as part of observing World Sparrow Day. The new display board was inaugurated by Dr. K Azeez, Principal PSMO College.
