Youth Meets Harithakarmasena at Naipunnya School of Management, Cherthala


The involvement of youth in environmental initiatives is crucial for fostering a sustainable future. The "Youth Meets HarithaKarmaSena" program, organized by the Suchitwa Mission, stands as a testament to this belief. This report highlights the active participation of Bhoomithrasena members, the nature club of our college, in this significant event aimed at promoting public cleanliness and waste management. On February 18, 2024, the "Youth Meets HarithaKarmaSena" program brought together 100 young representatives along with 25 members of the HarithaKarmaSena (HKS) from each of Kerala's 14 districts. The collaborative effort aimed to address the pressing issue of waste management while emphasizing the role of youth in driving positive change within their communities. Six dedicated members of Bhoomithrasena from our college actively participated in this impactful initiative. They participated in awareness campaign and collecting household waste by visiting the nearby house at Alappuzha as part of these youth meet. These members, driven by their passion for environmental conservation, contributed significantly to the success of the event. Their enthusiasm and commitment served as an inspiration to others, showcasing the potential of youth engagement in environmental causes. During the program, Bhoomithrasena members engaged in various activities aligned with the objectives of the initiative. They actively participated in cleanliness drives, waste segregation efforts, and awareness campaigns aimed at educating the public about sustainable waste management practices. Through their involvement, they not only contributed to immediate cleanliness goals but also worked towards fostering a culture of environmental responsibility within society. The success of the "Youth Meets HarithaKarma Sena" program was a result of collaborative efforts involving multiple stakeholders. Suchitwa Mission, along with HarithaKarmaSena, Kudumbashree Mission, Local Self-Government department, and other agencies, played instrumental roles in organizing and executing the event. Bhoomithrasena members worked synergistically with these organizations, leveraging their combined expertise and resources to maximize the impact of their efforts. The participation of Bhoomithrasena members left a lasting impact on both the environment and the community. Through their collective actions, significant strides were made in promoting public cleanliness and raising awareness about sustainable waste management practices. The event served as a catalyst for behaviour change, inspiring individuals to adopt more eco-friendly habits in their daily lives. Additionally, it fostered a sense of camaraderie and shared responsibility among participants, further strengthening the resolve to address environmental challenges. The participation of Bhoomithrasena members in the "Youth Meets Haritha KarmaSena" program exemplifies their dedication to environmental stewardship and community engagement. By actively contributing to this initiative, they have demonstrated the transformative power of youth-led action in driving positive change.
