One-Day Workshop on Skill Development Programme - “Apiculture” at KURIAKOSE ELIAS COLLEGE,MANNANAM
One day skill development program was conducted by Bhoomithrasena in association with Department of Botany and Khadi Gramodyog Vidhayala, Mallappally on 9th January 2024 on Apiculture. This program was conducted with aim of promoting agri-entrepreneurship skills in college students. The workshop was led by Mr. James Dominic (Rtd Beekeeping Fieldman) along with an instructor. The session covered the fundamentals of scientific beekeeping, the potential scope of beekeeping, and how to start and maintain an apiculture unit. Basic training in how to manage honeybee colonies, common diseases, and pests, and marketing, packaging, and branding strategies for honey and bee products was also provided.28 Students benefitted from the workshop.
