World Wetlands Day Celebration: Webinar on Wetlands and Human Wellbeing at St. Thomas College, Thrissur
The World Wetland day 2024 was celebrated as webinar on "Wetlands and Human well being" by the Bhomithrasena Club of St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur on 03.02.2024. The webinar was started on 03.02.2024 saturday at 10.30 am with silent prayer followed by the welcome speech of Dr. Joby Paul, FIC, Bhoomithrasena Club, St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur. Dr. Geethu Elizabath Thomas HOD, Botany, presided over the function and Rev. Dr. Martin K.A. Principal, St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur inagurated the webinar. Mr. Shijo Joy, Research Scholar, School of Environmental Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam deliverd a talk on the topic: "Wetlands and Human well being". He emphasied the importance iof wetlats in the ecosystem services, environmental benefits that provided to the human society and how to conserve the wetlands and Rmasar sites in our localities. The programme came to an end at 12.30 pm with a discussion session with the speeker. A totl of 42 Bhoomithtrasena Club members participated online to the programme.
