Bird watching Tour (North Kalamassery-HMT area) at Maharaja's College

Bhoomithra Sena organized a Bird watching tour on 31^st January 2023 for the club members in North Kalamassery, HMT area. The tour team was accompanied by Resource Person Sri. Abin Joseliph, Ph.D. Research Scholar, Post Graduate and Research Dept. of Zoology, Sacred Heart College, Thevara, Kochi-682013 [Research expertise: Urban Biodiversity monitoring and Assessment (Birds and Butterflies)] and Seven students had participated in the tour. The details of accompanied students along with Dr. Shanti Vasudevan CN (Assistant Professor of Botany) were as follows:

                          i.         Jasna K S. (3^rd year B.Sc. Mathematics)

                        ii.         Ramis M. R. (2^nd year B.Sc. Physics)

                      iii.         Sneha Shaji (2^nd year B.A. Hindi)

                       iv.         Anagha M. S. (2^nd year B. A. Hindi)

                         v.         Ambili C. (2^nd year B. A. Hindi)

                       vi.         Ruzvana V.M. (2^nd year B. A. Hindi)

                     vii.         Neenu T.K. (2^nd year B. A. Hindi)

50 species of birds were identified by sight and sound. Few birds couldn’t be spotted but heard by their sound. Students had an informative and interesting time with young and energetic Research Scholar Mr. Abin and thus really enjoyed the tour.
