Birding and Nature Education Camp at Tirunelli, Wayanad at PSMO College, Tirurangadi

BMC PSMO College offers a certificate course in birdwatching to the students. As part of the course, BMC PSMO College organized a two-day Birding and Nature Education camp at the Thirunelli range of Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary on 11 & 12 January 2025. The camp was organized in collaboration with the Forests and Wildlife Department, Kerala. The camp was inaugurated by Mr. N Gafur, Deputy Range Forest Officer, Tirunelli. After the inaugural session, Mr. Muneer, wildlife researcher and environmentalist, had an interactive session with students. In addition to the birdwatching sessions, a trekking to the Brahmagiri Peak (1608 meter above sea level) was also conducted as part of the camp. All students and teachers successfully climbed to the top of Brahmagiri Peak. A documentary show, yoga session, mediation session and forest stream bathing were also conducted as part of the camp. 42 students and three teachers attended the camp.
