Essay Writing Competition on the topic "Wetlands for Our Common Future". at Panampilly Memorial College Chalakudy
World Wetlands Day was enthusiastically observed at our college on February 4, 2025, organized by the Bhoomithrasena Club. Wetlands are crucial ecosystems that support biodiversity, improve water quality, and act as natural buffers against floods and climate change. They store carbon, regulate water cycles, and provide livelihoods for many communities. Conserving wetlands ensures ecological balance, sustains resources, and protects the environment for future generations.An essay competition on the topic "Wetlands: For Our Common Future" conducted on 04-02-2025 and ten students actively participated and showcased their awareness of wetland conservation. After evaluation, Kumari Drishya H (1st Year BA Political Science) secured first place, followed by Kumari Saranya Unni N and Sri Sonu S (2nd Year MA Malayalam). Our Principal, Dr. Shaju K S, awarded the winners and emphasized wetland conservation. The event successfully fostered awareness and responsibility, with gratitude extended to all participants and faculty for their support.
