Juniper2k24 at Naipunnya School of Management, Cherthala
Juniper is a student orientation programme organised for new members selected from first year students. Juniper plays an important role in a student’s transition to a college life. Orientation programs are aimed at familiarizing the students to nature club and its activities. It enables them to make essential connection with nature club activities and develop network among other peers.
The Nature Club of Naipunnya School of Management successfully conducted its junior orientation program titled “JUNIPER 2025” on April 9, 2025, at the Top Auditorium. The event aimed to induct new members into the Nature Club, develop environmental awareness, and build teamwork through creative activities and community bonding. The program began at 9:30 AM with an informal welcome by Ms. Catherin Maria Edwin, followed by a prayer song led by Ms. Megha Mohan. The audience was then presented with a video highlighting the Nature Club’s past and recent initiatives, coordinated by Ms. Abhirami. This visual recap set the mood for the formal part of the event.
Following this, dignitaries were welcomed to the stage, and Ms. Mary Joseph, Nature Club Coordinator, delivered the welcome address, sharing the club’s mission and the value of student participation in environmental efforts.
Though Rev. Fr. Varghese Palatty, Executive Director, was originally scheduled to inaugurate the program, his absence was respectfully addressed. The inaugural address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Chacko Kilukkan, Assistant Executive Director, who shared powerful words of encouragement and emphasized the spiritual and social responsibility of protecting nature.
One of the most memorable moments was the Official Green Cap Ceremony, where newly inducted Nature Club members were symbolically welcomed by receiving a green cap from dignitaries on stage. This gesture marked their official entry into the club.
Immediately following the ceremony, Dr. Biji P Thomas, Principal, led the new members in the Green Commitment Oath, fostering a strong sense of dedication toward environmental sustainability. She then continued with the Keynote Address, inspiring students to take their role seriously in shaping a greener future.
The program also featured a felicitation address by Ms. Pushpa John, Vice Principal, who praised the efforts of the coordinators and student volunteers. Rev. Fr. Chacko Kilukkan delivered the benedictory speech, adding warmth and encouragement to conclude the formal session. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Malavika, a senior student.
In the second session, from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM, the focus shifted to team-building activities and a community awareness program, led by senior club members. The interactive games and group tasks were designed to foster collaboration, creativity, and leadership. Notably, Mr. Abraham and Mr. Athrayadath, Assistant Professors, PGDCM, also took part in evaluating the performance and teamwork of the participants during the activities.
The day concluded with a Valedictory Session at 3:00 PM, anchored by Ms. Malavika. A feedback session allowed new members to share their experience, and the final vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. V.R. Renju Chandran, Assistant Professor, PGDCM.
Overall, JUNIPER 2025 was a vibrant and meaningful program that successfully welcomed new members into the Nature Club and set a strong foundation for future activities.
