Aanakaryam- Celebration of World Elephant Day 2024 at CMS College Kottayam (Autonomous))
A seminar was conducted on 12-08-2024 as part of the World Elephant Day 2024 by Bhoomitrasena Club and the Department of Botany , CMS College Kottayam. The programme was sponsored by Department of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Kerala. The seminar was named Aanakaryam and was on the theme-personifying prehistoric beauty, theological relevance and environmental importance. The theme highlights the importance of concerted efforts from the global community to save the elephant community on earth. 80 members of Bhoomitrasena Club were part of the seminar. Dr Rogimon P. Thomas ,Associate Professor in Botany and BMC Coordinator delivered the welcome address. The session on the theme was led by Mr Jithendranath UM , Section Forest Officer, Social Forestry Division, Kottayam. The programme was helpful in raising awareness about the conservation strategies of elephant community and restore their specialized and unique habitats. Rogin Prasad student of I PG Botany delivered the vote of thanks.
