World Environment Day 2024 successfully highlighted the critical need for ecosystem restoration and inspired millions to take action. By fostering global collaboration and encouraging individual responsibility, the event paved the way for a more sustainable and resilient future. The collective efforts of governments, organizations, communities, and individuals on this day demonstrate the power of united action in addressing environmental challenges and restoring the health of our planet. World Environment Day, celebrated annually on June 5th. Since its inception in 1974, it has grown to become a global platform for public outreach.

The theme for World Environment Day 2024 is "Ecosystem Restoration". This theme emphasizes the importance of restoring ecosystems that have been degraded or destroyed, as well as conserving the ecosystems that are still intact. Waste management and recycling is one of the major steps which can enhance ecosystem restoration. Bhoo Mithra Sena Club of Little Flower College took an initiative to create awareness among club members to focus on the Role of Green Protocol for Waste Management. There for a seminar was organised on June 5th 2024, World Environment Day on this particular topic and Mr Rajinesh Rajan, Program Officer, Swichitwa Mission, Thissur engaged the Bhoomithra sena Club Members with the very current topic related with Solid waste management which is Role of Green Protocol for Waste Management. Principal of Little Flower College, Dr Sr J Bincy inaugurated the clib activities of the academic year 2024-2025 by handing over the sapling of fruit tree to the Head of the Department of Botany and FIC of Bhoomithra sena Club Dr Sithara K Urumbil and Club Members.
