Nature's Bounty: A Field Visit to Vanasthali at ST. ANTONYS HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL POONJAR
The Nature's Bounty field visit to Vanasthali at Pathampuzha was organized as an immersive experience to help students connect deeply with nature and understand its ecological significance. The program offered a valuable opportunity for participants to step away from classrooms and engage directly with the natural environment.
Guided by renowned environmentalist Shri. Abey Emmanuel Poondikulam, the students explored the lush green landscapes of Vanasthali. The session began with an introduction to the ecosystem and the objectives of the visit. As they moved through the area, students were introduced to a wide variety of trees and plants. Shri. Abey explained the names, characteristics, and ecological importance of each plant, with a special focus on medicinal plants and their traditional applications.
The walk through Vanasthali was both educational and enriching. Students were shown how different plant species contribute to biodiversity and ecosystem balance. The interactive discussions helped them understand the cultural, medicinal, and environmental value of preserving plant life.
