Wetland-Mitra-Pledge at Mar Athanasius College, Kothamangalam


The Wetland-Mitra-Pledge programme was conducted as per the instructions of the Wetlands Division of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, New Delhi, Government of India. The ministry is implementing the ‘Save Wetlands Campaign,’ which aims to create mass awareness about the importance of wetland conservation and management. In this regard, the staff and students of Mar Athanasius College took the ‘Wetland-Mitra-Pledge’ on 04/02/2025 at 10:30 AM. The programme was successfully coordinated by Bhoomithrasena, the Nature and Biodiversity Club. The pledge emphasized the commitment to conserving wetlands, preventing pollution, and actively participating in initiatives that promote wetland restoration. The event saw enthusiastic participation, reinforcing the importance of individual and collective responsibility in safeguarding these critical ecosystems. The programme concluded with a reaffirmation of the participants' dedication to protecting wetlands, ensuring their sustainable management for future generations.
