Harithagriham at Govt. Arts & Science College, Calicut

Harithagriham is a special project initiated by the Bhoomithrasena Club to enhance the greenery of the campus. The project focuses on cultivating saplings and using these plants for gardening within the campus itself. Additionally, we aim to create a platform for BMC members to grow ornamental plants and market them on campus, providing opportunities for small earnings and participation in the "Earn While You Learn" program.

This initiative will enable students to explore plant propagation techniques and marketing strategies. Participants will gain practical knowledge in gardening and develop essential skills for their future endeavors. Overall, Harithagriham will keep members actively engaged in this field throughout their academic journey.

We began constructing the greenhouse on June 25, 2024, and completed it by June 29. Following that, we purchased pots and plants to enhance the beautification of the campus. Members of the Bhoomithrasena Club prepared the potting mixture and filled the pots with it before planting the saplings. By the first week of October, we had successfully nurtured a variety of plants in the greenhouse. The college principal, Dr. Priya P, inaugurated the greenhouse on October 18, 2024.
