The Bhoomitrasena Club of Meenakshi Vilasom Govt HSS Peroor organized a one-day eco-visit to Thenmala Eco Tourism Destination, India’s first eco-tourism project, to promote environmental awareness and sustainable tourism practices.
- Journey and Arrival:
- The group departed from the school at 6:30 AM, enjoying scenic views along the way.
- They had a filling breakfast en route and arrived at Thenmala by 9:30 AM, greeted by the tranquil, green surroundings.
- Exploration and Activities:
- The visit began with a nature walk through the well-preserved area, offering students a chance to immerse themselves in the lush greenery.
- The main attraction was the Deer Park, home to different deer species, including:
- Spotted deer
- Sambar deer
- Barking deer
- Students also visited the Deer Rehabilitation Centre, which cares for deer that have left their natural habitats, promoting wildlife conservation.
