National Threatened Species Day at St. Mary's College, Thrissur


NATIONAL THREATENED SPECIES DAY CELEBRATIONS, SEPTEMBER, 2024

 

Considering the current scenario of biodiversity loss, the National Threatened Species Day, 2024 was celebrated. The students were asked to submit a write up of a threatened species of plant/animal which they consider important. This was an inter-collegiate competition conducted to raise awareness amongst the students about alarming decline of threatened species. At total of 14 entries was obtained and amongst them, Sanha V Salahudheen of III DC Micobiology, St Mary’s College was selected as the winner by the judges.     Sanha wrote on the importance of Red Panda: the gentle Flame of the Himalayas.
