Visit to Jaivakam Model Biodiversity Centre, Thillankary at Pazhassi Raja N.S.S.College Mattanur
Bhoomithrasena club members of PRNSS college, visited the Jaivakam Organic farm at Thillankary. It is Approved by ICAR and Arya foundation funded- attracting and retaining youth in agriculture. The visit was also in connection with Observation of International year of Millets. Students had a hand on experience in harvesting the millets like ragi, red rice etc. They were given a class on biofarming techniques. The farm also contain many indigenous medicinal plants, nursery and their products. The farm was owned by Shinjith.
