Wall Painting Initiative for Environmental Awareness at Sree Narayana College, Chempazhanthy

Report on Wall Paintings for Environmental Awareness by Bhoomithrasena Club, SN College Chempazhanthy

As part of its commitment to promoting sustainability and responsible waste management, the Bhoomithrasena Club of Sree Narayana College, Chempazhanthy organized a wall painting initiative on the college campus. The goal was to raise awareness about waste segregation, environmental hygiene, and eco-friendly practices through creative visual messaging.

The paintings were skillfully executed by students from the Departments of English and Zoology—notably Master Nihal, Ms. Abhima, and Ms. Anusree—who contributed their artistic talents to convey strong environmental themes. One mural showcased a flourishing tree with butterflies, symbolizing biodiversity and harmony with nature. Another striking artwork portrayed a waste management worker and a garbage vehicle, highlighting the importance of sanitation and respect for the people who work behind the scenes to keep our surroundings clean.

In addition to the artists, students from various departments actively participated in this green initiative. They took part in cleaning the surroundings, whitewashing the walls, and preparing the space for the artwork. Their collective effort ensured the success of the venture and reflected the strong sense of environmental responsibility among the student community.

The activity, conducted on 27th March 2025, was documented with GPS-tagged photographs and received great appreciation from the faculty and college administration. It served as a visual reminder of the college’s ongoing mission to create a greener, more conscious campus environment.

This collaborative venture stands as a testament to the Bhoomithrasena Club’s dedication to environmental awareness through community engagement and creativity.
