Nagaravanam at St Berchmans College (Autonomous) Changanacherry

Nagaravanam is a project situated within the SB College campus of Bhoomitrasena, established in collaboration with the Kerala Forest Department. In this initiative, students have successfully planted 400 saplings across a designated area of 5 cents of land. This endeavour not only enhances the campus's greenery and biodiversity but also serves as an educational experience for the students involved.

The students from Bhoomitrasena, along with those from the Life Sciences Departments (Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology and Microbiology departments) at SB College, are responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the Nagaravanam throughout the year. Their dedicated efforts include regularly watering the plants and meticulously removing debris and weeds to ensure a healthy growing environment for the saplings.

Presently, most of the saplings are thriving and showing remarkable growth, a testament to the student's hard work and commitment. All activities related to Nagaravanam are closely monitored by Mr Jebin Joseph the Faculty in Charge of Bhoomitrasena, along with associated teachers Mrs Vigimol T Varghese and Ms Vincy O Mathews, ensuring that the project not only succeeds in its ecological goals but also fosters a sense of responsibility and environmental stewardship among the students.
