INTERNATIONAL FOREST AND WATER DAY 2025

TKM College of Arts and Science's Bhoomithra Sena Club, Mithra Women's Cell, and Zoology Department, in collaboration with the Kerala Forest and Wildlife Department, celebrated International Forest and Water Day on March 21, 2025 at 11 am. The theme of the program was "Forests: The Pulse of Conservation" with an emphasis on biodiversity conservation. Deputy Conservator of Forests, Sri. B. Anil, delivered the keynote address on the importance of forest conservation. Deputy Range Forest Officer, Sri. Janeev SK, highlighted the role of community participation in environmental conservation.
As part of the program, a "Birds' Cooling Spot" project was also inaugurated. The program featured presidential address by Principal Dr. MJ Sheeba, Dr. Rohini Krishna MV, HOD, and Department of Zoology delivered welcome address, Dr. Thanuja Thaha, and Smt. Haseena S. coordinators of mithra women’s cell and Dr. Mumthas Yahiya, Bhoomithrasena club coordinator conveyed felicitation Dr. Jasin Rahman VK, Bhoomithrasena club Assistant coordinator delivered vote of thanks. The celebration aimed to raise awareness about the importance of forests and water conservation, promoting sustainable practices and community involvement in environmental protection.
