Auditing of Existing waste management in the state at Government womens polytechnic college Kottakkal

A team consisting of 9 members of Bhoomithrasena Club and Faculty-in-Charge Gopakumar visited the proposed MCF in Edarikkode Panchayath on December 24.

This is the first time for everyone to visit MCF. We saw the members of the Haritha Karma Sena separating the inorganic materials brought in. We also got to see firsthand the difficulties they face. There is a slight smell coming from the waste. The students realized that we are all responsible for it. Our students interacted with the members of Haritha Karma Sena. Everyone cooperated well.

They were also happy. They expressed their discomfort to the students about the inconvenience of eating. They welcomed us all with tea and other things.

Although it is a well-functioning MCF, space constraints are creating difficulties for their operations. Since it is a sheet, there is a possibility of burning waste due to heat. MCF needs to have a permanent place.
