World Environment Day 2k24 at Naipunnya School of Management, Cherthala
World Environment Day 2024 was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Naipunnya School of Management, with the Nature Club taking the lead in organizing various events aimed at raising awareness and promoting environmental conservation efforts based on the theme “our land, our future”. The day witnessed active participation from students, faculty, and the local community.
The event commenced with a symbolic gesture of commitment to environmental conservation as the college Executive Director Rev.Fr. Varghese Palatty and vice principal Ms.Pushpa John joined in planting tree saplings within the campus premises. This act not only emphasized the importance of tree plantation but also served as a reminder of the crucial role that educational institutions play in nurturing a sustainable environment.
Following this event, a tree sapling distribution drive was initiated by nature club members as part of the efforts to enhance green cover and combat deforestation. Saplings of native tree species known for their environmental benefits were distributed to local community, encouraging them to contribute to the greenery of their surroundings. This initiative not only aimed at increasing the green canopy but also emphasized the importance of individual action in combating climate change and preserving biodiversity.
In addition to distributing saplings, informational pamphlets and resources on sustainable practices were provided to local people, empowering them with practical tips for reducing their ecological footprint and promoting eco-friendly lifestyles.
One of the highlights of the event was the pledge taken by students within the campus to contribute towards environmental protection. Through this pledge, students vowed to actively participate in eco-friendly initiatives, promote environmental awareness, and advocate for sustainable policies both within the campus and in the broader community.
The World Environment Day celebrations at Naipunnya School of Management underscored the institution's commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement. By fostering dialogue, spreading awareness, and facilitating tangible actions, the event served as a catalyst for positive environmental change within the campus and the surrounding locality.
Through initiatives like these, Naipunnya School of Management continues to play a pivotal role in nurturing a culture of environmental responsibility and inspiring individuals to become champions of sustainability in their communities.
