Documentary Exhibition at Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Thevara
Ozone Day, celebrated annually on September 16th, serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting and preserving our ozone layer. This Year’s (2023) Ozone Day theme was “Montreal Protocol: fixing the ozone layer and reducing climate change”. With the aim of raising awareness about the Montreal Protocol and the crucial role the ozone layer plays in protecting life on Earth, the Bhoomitrasena Club in collaboration with SH Film Club organized a Documentary Exhibition. The title of the documentary was “Saving Planet Earth: Fixing a Hole”. and it was exhibited in the Palackal Sophia Hall on September 18, 2023 at 3.30 pm. Dr. Deepak D Prabhu, Faculty in-Charge of Bhoomitrasena club warmly welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of observing the Ozone Day celebration. After his briefing, the documentary was played to the audience. The documentary underscored the protocol's positive impact on reducing the ozone hole, thus protecting human health, ecosystems, and the climate. The students gained insight into the scientific, political, and collaborative efforts that made this agreement a success, inspiring continued action in environmental protection and policy. The programme concluded with an open discussion among the participants.
