നക്ഷത്രവനം Planting Project at Sahodaran Ayyappan Smaraka SNDP Yogam College
On the 10th and 11th of August 2023, the Bhoomithrasena Club of Sahodaran Ayyappan Smaraka SNDP Yogam College, Konni, organized an event titled "നക്ഷത്രവനം" (Nakshathravanam), aimed at creating a celestial garden within our college campus. The primary objective was to establish a Nakshathravanam that corresponds to the birth stars of our students, thereby fostering a deeper connection with nature while simultaneously promoting biodiversity conservation and celebrating cultural heritage.
The activities undertaken during the event were meticulously planned to align with our objectives. Firstly, the creation of the Nakshathravanam involved planting trees and shrubs associated with each student's birth star. This not only beautifies our campus but also symbolizes a personal connection between the students and the natural surroundings.
Secondly, the environmental significance of this initiative cannot be overstated. By planting indigenous flora and organizing them according to celestial arrangements, we are not just creating a garden but also enhancing local biodiversity. This serves as a small yet significant step towards ecological sustainability and conservation.
