Zero Waste Day observation at NSS College of Engineering
Dear sir/madam
Date: 20 January 2025
Venue: Akathethara Grama Panchayat
As part of the Zero Waste Day observation, the Bhoomitrasena Club volunteers of NSS College of Engineering (NSSCE) actively participated in the Haritha Sabha, a programme organized by Akathethara Grama Panchayat to promote sustainable waste management and environmental awareness.
During the event, the NSSCE volunteers took part as panel members, where they shared their views and suggestions on zero waste initiatives and sustainable living. Their involvement highlighted the role of youth in environmental conservation and encouraged community dialogue on effective waste management practices.
Students from various schools under the Panchayat presented detailed reports on their waste management activities in 2024, which featured innovative and creative approaches to reducing environmental impact. A waste management survey was also conducted during the programme to evaluate ongoing efforts and community participation in maintaining a clean and green environment.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where NSSCE was honored with an A+ grade and recognized as a Green Institution for its consistent efforts in promoting environmental sustainability.
The programme not only provided a platform for sharing ideas and best practices but also strengthened the collaboration between educational institutions and local bodies in working towards a zero waste future.
