Audit of Existing Waste Management Facilities at Govt. Arts & Science College, Calicut
We were allotted two MCFs for the Audit of Existing Waste Management Facilities, viz MRFC, Njelianparambu and MCF, Palayam. We visited Njelianparambu MRFC ( Material Recovery Facility Centre) on 9/01/2025 and Palayam MCF on 10/01/2025 and conducted audit of existing waste management facilities. The team that audited Njelianparambu included 20 members of BMC along with the FIC. Members were as follows: 1. Harichandana K 2. Adila E 3. Ayisha Hiba TK 4. Fathima Fidha V P 5. Nadhasha B V 6. Sathyan 18. Aparna M 19. Rishana C 20. Athulya K P. We could see the Njelianparambu MRFC is piled with bags of solid waste inside and outside the centre. Proper processing is not taking place in time. We learned that the Bailing machine was not functioning for more than a month. So, conveyor belt also was not functioning. We filled the questionnaire given by DoECC and made a report of the audit.
We visited Palayam MCF on 10th January, 2025 in order to audit the facilities. 11 members along with the FIC participated in the programme. The list is given below: 1. Mubeena P 2. Fathima Afna 3.
