Journal of Environmental Conservation at Sahodaran Ayyappan Smaraka SNDP Yogam College
The Bhoomithrasena Club of Sahodaran Ayyappan Smaraka SNDP Yogam College, Konni, organized a program on January 31, 2024, to prepare a journal on Environmental Conservation. The primary objective was to compile and showcase articles by our club members on various aspects of environmental conservation, aiming to participate in the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change (DOECC)-Kerala contest. The contest themes included Environmental Heroes, Local Environmental Issues, Neighbourhood Documentation, Kerala’s Traditional Eco-Friendly Concepts and Practices, and Sustainable Lifestyle.
We collected a total of 21 articles from our dedicated club members, all focusing on different dimensions of environmental conservation. Each member contributed unique insights and perspectives, highlighting the diversity of thoughts and approaches towards preserving our environment. The articles were then thoroughly scrutinized to ensure relevance, accuracy, and quality.
After careful evaluation, 14 articles were selected for inclusion in our journal. These articles not only met the contest requirements but also stood out in terms of their depth of research and innovative ideas. The scrutiny process involved a detailed review of the content to ensure it was both impactful and aligned with the themes provided by DOECC.
The selected articles were then compiled into a journal titled 'Environmental Conservation'. This journal was designed to be a comprehensive representation of our club members' dedication and knowledge on the subject. Following the compilation, the journal was submitted for participation in the DOECC-Kerala contest, showcasing our club’s commitment to environmental initiatives and conservation efforts.
The program was organized under the guidance of an experienced organizing committee. The committee included the College Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Kishor Kumar B S, IQAC Coordinator Prof. Simi M, Programme Coordinator Prof. Jijith V S (Faculty-in-charge of Bhoomithrasena Club), and Student Coordinator Mr. Aswin Jayan. Their combined efforts and leadership were instrumental in the successful completion of this project, aiming to make a significant impact in the field of environmental conservation.
