ONE DAY NATURE CAMP TO THENMALA ECOTOURISM CENTRE at KURIAKOSE ELIAS COLLEGE,MANNANAM
A one-day nature camp was organized at the Thenmala Ecotourism Centre on December 13, 2024, to commemorate International Mountain Day. Thirty-two students from various academic backgrounds, including Commerce, History, Economics, and Psychology, enthusiastically participated in the program.
The camp offered a unique blend of experiential learning and adventure, allowing students to immerse themselves in Thenmala's natural beauty while gaining insights into sustainable ecotourism practices and conservation efforts. Students explored the adventure zone, went trekking through the lush surroundings, and enjoyed boating with opportunities for wild animal sighting. They also participated in the activities arranged in the leisure zone and visited the deer rehabilitation centre.
Through interactive sessions, guided tours, and hands-on activities, students learned about the importance of responsible tourism and its environmental impact. The program covered topics such as biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and eco-friendly practices. Students were also introduced to the Thenmala Ecotourism Centre's initiatives promoting environmentally sustainable tourism practices.
