Samparanikkodi Mangrove visit and cleaning at ST. THOMAS COLLEGE KOZHENCHERRY


A team of 49 students with teachers visited Sampranikkodi island, a famous mangrove ecosystem at Kollam, Kerala. The purpose of the visit was to make students aware of the features of mangroves and their ecological significance. Owing to the increasing number of visitors and running of shops within the water body turned the place to a waste accumulated region too. The students cleaned up the place by removing the plastics and other wastes floating on the water and spread the message of keeping the place waste free.
