Preliminary biodiversity investigation at a local wetland - Aruvikuzhy Waterfalls at Kuriakose Gregorios College

The field trip to Aruvikkuzhy waterfalls was an illuminating experience, highlighting the paramount significance of sustainable tourism and environmental conservation. The field study of the waterfall ecosystem has provided valuable insights into the intricate web of life and ecological processes that thrive in and around these natural wonders. Through our observations and research, we've gained a deeper understanding of the biodiversity that shape these ecosystems. Phylum Arthropods are the most abundant group. About 20 insect families and few Arachinid families were found. Out of which Salicidae, Formicidae and Dragonflies were found more in number. Many fungal species were also found there.
