The initiative aims to: Facilitate community participation in identifying, recording, and conserving local biodiversity. Capture indigenous knowledge related to the sustainable use and conservation of biological resources. Build awareness among local communities about biodiversity conservation and legal frameworks such as the Biological Diversity Act, 2002. Support the formation and strengthening of Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs) for effective local-level biodiversity governance. Provide baseline data to aid in planning conservation strategies and promoting sustainable development practices within the region.
